Royal St. George’s College is an all-boys independent school in downtown Toronto, Canada. As part of the campus masterplan project, the campus’s senior school will be renovated and expanded.

The existing 1970’s building will accommodate a new central atrium to bring natural light into the heart of campus while providing a lively common space for students. The skylight offers views to the neighboring St. Albans chapel, where the school’s arts centre is currently under construction.

The expansion is characterized by the timber structural truss that frames the student common corridor. The tree-branch-like structure allows natural light to penetrate into the campus ensuring that a connection to nature is maintained.
